Community Art Continues
The results of a good morning's work with the four pupils from Upton Infant School, Madison Bedward, Huseyin Simsek, Lacey Spicer and Alfie Rawlings who are a credit to the school and their families for their enthusiasm in producing the latest mural which I am sure you will agree is a great contribution to enhancing the hoardings. Their attention never wavered for the three hours that they were there and they just got on with it with a little guidance from the adults
Mrs Adele Weaver assisted the children who were working with Mrs Nina Camplin our Mural Artist.
Greenridge Developments
Going, going, well in fact it has now gone. The building has now completely vanished. Some tree work has been done and site preparation will now begin.
Children's Party 2012
Santa Kept busy!
On 15th December 2012 in the Working Men’s Club, Upton, Santa was kept extremely busy seeing 84 children and handing out a special pre-Christmas present to each child. He arrived in a sparkling red sports car and stayed for over an hour chatting and greeting the excited youngsters.
The party was a huge success with the children able to take part in crafts such as decorating Christmas lanterns, making bracelets and getting sticky fingers icing biscuits. There were also the traditional games such as pass the parcel and musical statues to enjoy.
The Beacon project would like to thank the many volunteers who helped to make the afternoon so magical for the children. Thanks too to the Working Men’s club for hosting the event, which would not have been possible without their support, and to the Upton Café for supplying the sandwiches and staying open so Mum’s could enjoy a cuppa whilst they watched.
Great work Santa!
